Graphitization in carbon steels must be prevented because it reduces the amount of matrix, which degrades material performance due to loss strength. In addition, when graphite particles are aligned, they can cause fracture by their linkage. The safety management standards for high-temperature applications state that graphitization should considered at 698 K and above. number reported cases on below is limited, mechanism has not yet been well investigated. This paper reports finding unprecedented 673 creep-ruptured steel an elongated form appears after a much shorter time 673–773 than other previously times. Furthermore, formation this discussed. Dislocations inclusions vicinity grain boundaries may facilitate kinetics these temperatures.
